The girls organize themselves into teams of 10 ranging in age from the youngest to the oldest, and select a leader.

* The entire home of 200 girls is divided into 4 “homes” of 50 girls each. Each home has 5 team of 10 girls each. From among the 5 leaders of the teams in each house a House Captain and an Assistant is elected who takes responsibility for :

* The good behaviour of their House

* All inter house activities e.g. family hour, interhouse contests etc.

* A house meeting once a week to deal with any ongoing problems, to organize activities, to get to know each other, find talents, listen to what the younger ones say, settle disagreements etc.

* The House Captains and Vice Captains form the Girls Home Council which meets once a week to discuss any points which need to be taken to the Staff.

* Each month the Captain and Vice Captain carries out an evaluation of each child’s performance. This evaluation is discussed with the child and reasons for the grade given explained.

* These evaluations are submitted to the House in Charge for filing in the girls’ files.

* The aim is to develop leadership and responsibility in the children so the performance of the House is reviewed once every 6 months and the Captains are changed at that time to give more leadership opportunity in each House.
