Dear friends,

“When money talks, truth remains silent.” How often have we heard this line? How often have we seen people sitting on the fence, how often have we experienced people being talked into doing things they would rather not do. How often have we witnessed people being bought into silence and witnesses turning hostile, how often have we felt the Judas kiss? Yes, so much so, that sometimes we wonder who has won, the best man, or the best liar ?

…but Easter brings us another message, to remind us that silence and integrity are two separate entities. Today’s values are fast changing into “everything is OK if everyone feels so.” No, values are an intrinsic part of our lives. We are not born with them, we learn them from our families, friends, a million interactions, and a strong belief in right and wrong is the only defense we have to preserve our moral fibre.

Integrity is the power to stand-alone and be different.  It is a one-man army.  This is why He died for the Truth and his Resurrection gives us hope that good will always triumph over evil.

Theresa Mendes
